Do you have acne on your face and all over your body as well. Although I normally only get acne on my face and back, I’ve had at least some amount of acne on just about every area of my skin at one point or other in my life. My feet, legs, and (ahem) genital area seems to be the only places to escape it completely so far. While there is a certain relief to that fact, having acne on my scalp, back, butt, chest, stomach, and shoulders is not exactly fun. For this reason I’ve done plenty of experimenting with acne body washes.

As a long time acne sufferer in my youth, I often felt the need for relevant information and advice regarding acne. However, those were the days before the advent of the internet, and more often than not, I found myself poring over health magazines, leaflets of new anti acne medicine and discussions with friends. While browsing through various websites however, I chanced upon a link that led to an online acne forum. Now this is a revolutionary development that I sorely wish I had in those days! An acne forum of any sort, even if only online, would have helped me deal with not just the physical symptoms of acne, but also with the fear and embarrassment that acne brought on. So, I delved into the acne forum with relish to see what developments had taken place in the acne field.

Acne is an age-old problem that continues to baffle us. With all the sources we have on our hands, nothing seem to really cure acne. The actual causes of acne are unknown but many have reasonable theories. No real source for the skin problem has been scientifically determined and this may be the reason that no real solution to acne has been developed. Herbs for acne sounds like a pretty hokey slogan, but the cure for the common pimple may lie in herbal remedies.

Prevention is always better then cure. Although we all want to prevent acne breakouts on our faces, sometimes we have to address the blemishes we already have. It is good practice to put time and effort into keeping a clear complexion, but it is also good practice to look in the mirror and face the pimples. They are there and they will not simply vanish. Or will they?

I have come across many interesting suggestions during the search for a natural acne treatment that really works. Some of the ideas are really viable options that can be easily carried out while others do not make much sense at all. Many believe that a person’s complexion depends on his diet and this is probably true to some extent. One of the suggestions for a natural acne treatment was to skip breakfast.

This isn’t a typical morning. You’ve just jumped out of a nice, hot shower. You feel clean, fresh and ready to face the day. That is until you face your face. You think that it’s an eye, and then you realize that a massive zit is the focus of your reflection. Nothing is more deflating than finding acne staring back at you in the mirror when you are about to start a promising new day. Before you run to the pharmacy, consider some home acne remedies that will zap that zit and hopefully prevent acne in the future.

Ever try a homemade acne treatment? The funniest—though I doubt the best—homemade acne treatment I ever witnessed was that introduced by Gus Portokalos (played by Michael Constantine) in My Big, Fat, Greek Wedding. Did you see the movie? If not, here’s a homemade acne treatment that is novel, and even makes you smell squeaky clean. In the movie, whenever someone has a pimple, the dramatic patriarch, Portokalos, chases the afflicted about the house with a Windex® bottle, swearing by its instant acne healing properties. The character is just that, quite a character, quirky and self-absorbed, but his well-intended approach to this unique homemade acne treatment is understandably honorable.
